2023 Afcon Qualifier: Tijani Babangida confident in Victor Osimhen’s scoring prowess

Former International, Tijani Babangida is confident in Victor Osimhen’s goal scoring exploits as he believes the striker will surpass expectations placed on his shoulder.

The Super Eagles forward netted a brace in the team 3-2 win over Sierra Leone on Sunday evening.

With the Napoli star’s performance in front of goal in Monrovia, the ex-international has tipped the Serie A goal king to become Nigeria’s all time leading goal scorer.

“I am impressed with Osimhen’s goal scoring prowess for both club and country. His hunger and determination to score goals has made him Nigeria’s goal machine,” Babangida told Complete Sports.

“No doubt, once their is proper understanding within the team, I am sure Osimhen will score more goals just as he did for Napoli in the Serie A.”

Osimhen has scored 17 goals in 26 appearances for the Super Eagles as he looks on to break the record of 36 goals held by the late Rashidi Yekini.
