2023 CAF Awards: Peseiro, Eguavoen congratulate Osimhen, Oshoala and Nnadozie

Nigeria Football Federation’s Technical Department and former Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen, and Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro have showered praises on the Nigerian winners at the 2023 CAF Awards Gala.

Osimhen and Oshoala were awarded the Player of the Year for men and women categories respectively, while Chiamaka Nnadozie won the best Goalkeeper award, at the at the CAF Awards ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday night.

The Super Eagles striker who was also named in the Team of the Year, beats competition from Paris Saint Germain defender Achraf Hakimi and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Meanwhile, Oshoala won the Best Women’s Footballer of the Year for a record-extending sixth time, with competition from Zambia’s Barbra Banda and Banyana Banyana star forward, Thembi Kgatlana.

Nnadozie picked up the inaugural edition of the Goalkeeper of the Year award, while the trio of Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, and Oshoala were included in the Team of the Year (Women).

Thrilled by the dominant triumph, Peseiro and Eguavoen congratulated the Nigerian heroes for reviving the country’s glory.

“NIGERIA WON TONIGHT. Congratulations Victor Osimhen, Nnadozie Chiamaka, Asisat Oshoala, and the Super Falcons,”  Augustine Eguavoen wrote on his X page.

Jose Peseiro also posted on his official X page; “A big salute to @victorosimhen9 for winning CAF Player of the Year and being named in the CAF Team of the Year! His exceptional skill, commitment, and top-notch professionalism mark him as one of the world’s best. Truly deserved for an extraordinary talent!”
