By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Ever-present Nigeria senior women’s national team will camp in Brisbane, Australia for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In a release on the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) website, Super Falcons will stay at the Soltibel Brisbane Central Hotel, while Lionis FC Stadium, Brisbane will be used as Nigeria’s training site.
Earlier in September, Randy Waldrum’s side will drawn to face off with co-host Australia in Group B alongside debutant, The Republic of Ireland, and Olympic Champions, Canada.
The nine-time African Champions have featured at every edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup since its inception in 1991.
Quarterfinal feat at the 1999 edition in the United States of America (USA) was Nigeria’s best performance at the global women’s football Mundial.
The team will hope to equal or surpass that feat next year in Australia and New Zealand.
The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place from July 20 to August 20, 2023.
