As the Super Eagles prepare for their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya in Uyo, forward Chidera Ejuke has called on Nigerians to rally behind the national team, urging them not to turn their backs in this critical moment.
The Super Eagles, who currently lead Group D with four points from two matches, are aiming to extend their top position as they face the Mediterranean Knights in a doubleheader of AFCON qualifiers. Ejuke, a key figure in the squad, spoke optimistically about the team’s potential and the quality within the group.
“I feel, and I believe, that Nigeria has top players. Being a part of this group is a blessing for me,” Ejuke told the press in Uyo.
He expressed confidence that with the current set of players, the team is well-equipped to achieve success, emphasizing that qualifying for the 2025 AFCON is a top priority for the Super Eagles.
The winger also expressed his desire for consistent support from the fans, stating, “Hopefully, with the current set of players, we can achieve the very best for the country. Yes, I want Nigerians to keep supporting us, both in good times and difficult times. We will ensure that we give our best every time to make Nigerians happy.”
With the stakes high, Ejuke remains focused on the task at hand, adding, “The 2025 AFCON is important to us and all Nigerians, and we will do everything possible to qualify for the tournament next year.”
As Nigeria continues its journey in the qualifiers, Ejuke’s message is a timely reminder of the importance of unity and support for the national team as they look to secure their place in next year’s tournament.
