2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Time and where to watch Nigeria vs Libya

By Monsurah Olatunji

The Nigeria senior national team is set to resume their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a crucial encounter against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

The match will take place at Uyo’s Akwa Ibom Stadium on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 5 PM local time.

Currently, the Super Eagles are undefeated in the group stage, having secured 4 points from their first two matches, putting them at the top of Group D. In contrast, Libya sits at the bottom of the standings with just one point.

In their opening match, Nigeria triumphed over Benin Republic with a dominant 3-0 win. Their most recent fixture, however, ended in a goalless draw against Rwanda.

Libya, on the other hand, were held to a 1-1 draw against Rwanda in their opening fixture but suffered a defeat to Benin Republic in their second match, losing 2-0 away.

The Super Eagles have a strong recent record against Libya, winning all of their last four encounters. One of the most memorable victories was a 4-0 drubbing in Uyo during the 2019 AFCON qualifiers, with Odion Ighalo scoring a memorable hat-trick.

However, Nigeria will be without their star forward, Victor Osimhen, who has been in sensational form since joining Galatasaray. His absence could leave a significant gap in the team’s attacking prowess.

The match will be broadcast live in Nigeria on NTA Sports 24, AfroSport TV, and beIN SPORTS CONNECT. Fans will be keenly watching as the Super Eagles aim to extend their unbeaten run and solidify their position at the top of the group.
