2025 AFCONQ: Full house as Osimhen hits Super Eagles camp after Galatasaray deal

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen has arrived at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to join his Super Eagles teammates in preparation for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Osimhen, who recently completed a loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray from Italian Serie A club Napoli for the season, joined the national team camp on Thursday. His arrival brings the total number of players in camp to 23, with Maduka Okoye having arrived the previous day.

In a video shared on the Nigeria senior men’s national team Instagram page, Osimhen is seen greeting his teammates and coaching staff. He warmly welcomed assistant coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and engaged in friendly exchanges with players and staff.

Prior to Osimhen’s arrival, the camp had already seen the presence of key players including Maduka Okoye, Bruno Onyemaechi, Raphael Onyedika, Samuel Chukwueze, Benjamin Tanimu, Moses Simon, Al-Hassan Yusuf, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, and Stanley Nwabali.

Early arrivals also included William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Olisa Ndah, Taiwo Awoniyi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Wilfred Ndidi, Amas Obasogie, and Victor Boniface.

The Super Eagles are gearing up for their 2025 AFCON Qualifiers clash against Benin Republic, scheduled for Saturday in Uyo. The team aims to deliver a strong performance as they continue their campaign to secure a place in the prestigious tournament.
