Babagana Kalli Kachalah, Chairman of the Borno State Football Association, has been appointed as the Match Commissioner for the highly anticipated 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers clash between Equatorial Guinea and Liberia.

This prestigious appointment underscores Kalli’s standing as one of Nigeria’s most respected football administrators.

Kalli, who has consistently demonstrated excellence in overseeing football matches, brings a wealth of experience to the role. His stellar track record as a Match Commissioner in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and his current position as Chairman of the NPFL Match Commissioners Appointment Committee make him an ideal choice for this continental assignment.

With a reputation for ensuring fairness, transparency, and smooth operations at the highest level, Kalli will play a pivotal role in overseeing the game, ensuring it is conducted with the utmost professionalism. His attention to detail and thorough understanding of football governance are expected to ensure a fair and memorable encounter between the two nations.

The pre-match meeting for the Equatorial Guinea vs Liberia game was held in Malabo on Thursday, October 10, 2024, with the highly anticipated match set to take place on Friday evening, October 11. The timing of the match coincides with Nigeria’s own AFCON Qualifier against Libya in Uyo, further highlighting the significance of this event on the continental football calendar.

As a key member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executives from the North East, Kalli has continually demonstrated his commitment to the growth of football in Nigeria and across Africa. His involvement in this high-profile match reinforces Nigeria’s influence and presence in African football administration.

Kalli’s appointment is a proud moment for Nigerian football, and his work as Match Commissioner is expected to contribute to the success of this important fixture in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.
