2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: Flamingos wrap up Morocco campaign with excursion in Rabat

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team enjoyed a day out in Rabat on Thursday, visiting several notable landmarks including the King’s Palace and the Mausoleum of the late King Mohammed V.

The sightseeing excursion marked the team’s final activity in Morocco following their participation in the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, where their journey ended in the Round of 16 after a 4-0 loss to Italy.

According to the team’s itinerary, the Flamingos will depart for the airport by 8:00 p.m. tonight, with their Royal Air Maroc flight to Abuja scheduled for 1:00 a.m. on Friday.

The team is expected to arrive in Nigeria later on Friday as they wrap up their World Cup campaign.

The Flamingos won one of their four games at this year’s tournament against Samoa.

They lost to Canada and France in the group stage before recording a 4-0 in over Samoa making it to the Round of 16 as one of the best third placed teams.

Their best performance at he tournament remained a bronze medal finish in 2022 with aim to surpass that in next editions when Morocco host again in 2026.
