Nigeria’s U17 boys secured their place in the semifinals of the 2025 WAFU-B U-17 Championship after a goalless draw against Burkina Faso in their final group stage match on Saturday.

The match was a cagey affair, with both teams cancelling each other out at the Stade du Lycee Scientifique, Cote D’Ivoire.

Despite Nigeria enjoying the bulk of possession and creating promising chances, they failed to convert dominance into goals, as the Burkinabe stood firm defensively.

Nigeria started their Group B campaign with a 4–1 win over Benin Republic. It was a strong start with a commanding win.

With four points from two games, the Golden Eaglets advance from the group, maintaining their unbeaten run in the competition.

The result sets up a mouthwatering semifinal clash with arch-rivals Ghana, a fixture that promises fireworks and could determine the region’s top contender for the U17 crown.
