Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team sealed a comfortable passage to the next round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers with a commanding 4-0 win over Rwanda on Saturday, completing a 5-0 aggregate triumph in Ibadan.

The hosts wasted no time asserting dominance, opening the scoring through Precious Oscar, who finished neatly after a dazzling run and cut-back from Janet Akekerowei.

Moments later, the lead was doubled in stunning fashion as Fatimah Tunmininu scored directly from a corner in the 20th minute, leaving the Rwandan goalkeeper stranded.

The Falconets maintained control after the break, and their persistence paid off when Janet Akekerowei smashed home from long range in the 60th minute to make it three.

Captain Taiwo Afolabi, wearing the iconic No.10 shirt, rounded off the performance with a stoppage-time strike to seal the emphatic win in front of the home supporters.

Nigeria advance to the next qualifying round with an aggregate 5-0 victory.

They will face either Senegal or Algeria in the next round of the Qualifiers.

The Falconets extend their dominance at youth level, underlining their credentials as one of Africa’s strongest sides.
