2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Venue change looms for South Africa vs Nigeria clash

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

With the next round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers approaching, South Africa’s home clash against Nigeria may be moved away from the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Before hosting Nigeria, Bafana Bafana are scheduled to face Lesotho, who have been using Toyota Stadium as their temporary home venue.

However, journalist Velile Mnyandu reports that the*Lesotho Football Association has confirmed FIFA’s instruction to switch venues.

The decision follows a recent CAF inspection, which raised concerns over the pitch quality at Toyota Stadium.

As a result, the match could be relocated to the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium, also in Bloemfontein.
