2026 World Cup: Zimbabwe coach banking on information to beat Nigeria
By Wale Mustapha
Head Coach of Zimbabwe national football team, Beltarman Brito has disclosed his country’s plans to record victory when they host Nigeria for the Matchday Two of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Harambee Stars will kick start their quest to secure ticket to the 2026 World Cup with a home match against Rwanda on Wednesday before engaging the Super Eagles five days later.
The East Africans have been training at the Huye Stadium in Harare since Monday and fired up for the games and the manager insists they are focusing on victory against Nigeria and have mapped out plans to achieve it.
”We are just starting a new process, everyone including the players and technical understood that, after being banned for a long time,” Brito told media.
“We have to rearrange things but it doesn’t mean we can’t grind out a positive result.
“Our main target is to get a win against Nigeria which is what the Zimbabweans want to see.
“We have a good match analyst and reader, so everyone is ready.”
