Nigeria goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has spoken on why he would be happy to remain at Chippa United at least for another year or two at the South African club.
Nwabali was the revelation for the Super Eagles at the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire, where kept four straight clean sheets at the tournament. His performance earnestly put him ahead of Francis Uzoho as the first-choice goalkeeper for the three-time African champions.
Upon his return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) side this week, the former Enyimba FC goalie expressed reasons why he would like to stay at the team.
“When you okay under an understanding Chairman, everything comes,” Nwabali told SABC Sports.
“The confidence comes. Imagine playing under a Chairman who wants all his players to be comfortable, you must work for this man.
“To be honest, I really want to play one or two more years with the team. I really wish but if it is his wish, fine because he is a nice man.
“I really want to show him this love again. If it is ending up my season with the club, so be it. If it is something I am still going to continue, so be it.”
His performance at the last AFCON has opened him up for transfer outside South Africa.
