Francisca Ordega continues goalscoring streak as CSKA Moscow maintain perfect start

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigerian forward Francisca Ordega displayed her remarkable goal-scoring prowess once again, notching her third goal in as many league games to propel CSKA Moscow to a 2-1 victory against Zvezda 2005 on Saturday.

The visitors took an early lead courtesy of Cameroon captain Gabrielle Onguene’s goal in the 17th minute. Ordega then extended CSKA Moscow’s advantage in the 57th minute with a clinical finish.

Despite Zvezda 2005 pulling one back through Anastasia Shlapakova in the 62nd minute, Ordega’s goal proved decisive in securing the win for the Moscow-based side.

Ordega’s impressive start to the 2024 Russian Supreme Division women’s league sees her tallying three goals in as many games, highlighting her impact on CSKA Moscow’s attacking front.

With this victory, CSKA Moscow maintains their flawless start to the season, accumulating nine points from three games.

However, Dynamo Moscow and Zenit have the opportunity to match their points tally as they play their third game of the season this weekend.

Ordega and her teammates are set to continue their league campaign with a visit to FK Yenisey in their upcoming fixture on March 30, 2024.

With Ordega in top form, CSKA Moscow aims to maintain their winning momentum and further solidify their position at the top of the league standings.
