Tolu Arokodare drops hint on next move amid transfer rumours

Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has dropped hint about joining Real Madrid amid rumours linking him with a move away this summer transfer window.
The Super Eagles eligible forward joined Genk in the winter transfer window of 2023, replacing another Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu, who left for Southampton.
He was Genk’s leading scorer last season with 15 goals in 40 appearances despite not having spark fly in his first season.
However, the 23-year-old has been on a prolific run in his sophomore year, scoring four goals in four matches.
His impressive stats in front of goals have made him a top target for Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor but the Smurfs only want to sell him for a significant amount, and they believe the Turkish side cannot match their ask.
The Festac-born striker however remained focused amid the transfer rumours as his brilliance fueled Genk’s victory over the weekend where he scored twice against Beershot.
When questioned about the reports linking him away from the club, Tolu joked about joining Real Madrid before stating that he was happy at Genk and focused on their ambitions.
“I think I might go to Real Madrid,” he said, per Voetbal Nieuws.
“I hear they are still looking for a second striker next to Mbappé. No, just kidding. I have a contract with Genk, and I am focused on this club, not on rumours. Where do I see my future? I am not a clairvoyant. No idea, man.”
Since joining Genk, Arokodare has scored 12 league goals from 33 appearances.
