International Friendly: Venue change for Nigeria vs. Algeria first leg clash

By Wale Mustapha

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a change in venue for the upcoming first leg of the international friendly match between the Super Falcons and Algeria.

Initially set to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on October 26, the first leg will now be held at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

This two-legged friendly series is part of the Super Falcons’ preparations for the 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The statement from the NFF’s communications department clarified that only the second leg will occur at Onikan Stadium the following Tuesday.

The Algerian women’s national team is expected to arrive in Lagos on Wednesday before heading to Ikenne for the Saturday match.

This friendly series presents a vital opportunity for both teams to fine-tune their squads ahead of the continental tournament.
