Niger Tornadoes Technical Adviser, Mohammed Magin, has admitted that his side had to work hard for their 1-0 victory over Akwa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 encounter on Sunday.

A 47th-minute set-piece goal from Papa Daniel was enough to give the Ikon Allah Boys their second consecutive home win of the season. Despite the narrow margin of victory, Magin praised his players for their determination against a tough opponent.

“It’s not easy, especially knowing that Akwa United are bottom of the table,” Magin said after the match. “Teams in such positions are always difficult to beat. While we are struggling to climb up the table, they are equally fighting to improve their situation.”

Magin also pointed out that despite the win, the team must keep pushing forward and build on this result.

“Against El-Kanemi Warriors, we will go there and do our best to get a positive result,” he added, looking ahead to their next fixture.

The victory has propelled Tornadoes to fourth on the NPFL standings with 17 points from 11 matches. They will next face El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
