By Wale Mustapha
Veteran striker Kufre Ebong has vowed to give his all for Niger Tornadoes as they prepare to host Akwa United in a crucial encounter in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.
Ebong, who previously played for Akwa United, will make his long-awaited return to action for the Ikon Allah Boys after being sidelined for an extended period due to injury.
Despite the personal significance of facing his former club, the 28-year-old is fully focused on helping his current team secure all three points.
“Facing Akwa United is special, but three points matter most, and I’m focused on delivering for my team,” Ebong told Tornadoes’ official media.
“I’ve worked hard to regain my fitness, thanks to the medical team and everyone involved, including the coaches, for their support and understanding.”
Ebong’s return to full fitness comes at an important time for Niger Tornadoes, as they look to build momentum in the NPFL.
The match is set to take place at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna, where the home side will aim to continue their push up the league standings.
As the Ikon Allah Boys gear up for an explosive clash, Ebong’s leadership and experience will be vital in their pursuit of a vital three points.
