Super Eagles Team B to face Sunshine Stars, welcome coach Eric Chelle in Ikenne

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Super Eagles Team B will face Sunshine Stars in a friendly match by 4:00 pm on Wednesday.

The game with the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side is to prepare the team as they get to know their opponents when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducts draw for the competition the same day.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede and his staff also welcomed Éric Sékou Chelle, the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, to the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) Eagles training camp at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne Remo, Ogun State on Tuesday.

Ogunmodede, along with Fidelis Ilechukwu and Olatunji Baruwa, will continue to lead the CHAN Eagles, while Eric Chelle will take on a supervisory role.

There’s a possibility that the camp could wrap up right after the match since CHAN has been postponed to August, letting players go back to their respective clubs.

Meanwhile, Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, was spotted at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

The new manager took the opportunity to meet with the Super Eagles B team before their evening training session.

He was accompanied by Super Eagles Technical Director Austin Eguaveon and Victor Ikpeba, a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee.
