Rumour Mills: Everton enter race for Taiwo Awoniyi on Transfer Deadline Day

By Wale Mustapha

Everton are reportedly set to make a late move for Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi on deadline day, as the Premier League side looks to strengthen their squad before the window closes.

The 27-year-old forward, who currently plays for Nottingham Forest, has found his game time limited this season, having fallen behind Chris Wood in the pecking order.

Despite Awoniyi’s expressed desire to remain at Forest, rumours surrounding his future have continued to swirl.

West Ham United have already been linked with a potential move for the Super Eagles forward, and now Everton are said to be eyeing a swoop for Awoniyi, according to Liverpool Echo.

So far this season, Awoniyi has scored just one Premier League goal in 20 appearances for Forest, prompting speculation over his next move.

With the transfer window nearing its close, it remains to be seen if Everton can secure the Nigerian international before the deadline.
