WAFU-B Women’s Champions League: Bayelsa Queens beat ASKO to seal place in semi final

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Bayelsa Queens produced a dominant second-half display to secure victory over ASKO of Togo and book their place in the semi-finals.

After a goalless first half, the breakthrough came shortly after the restart when Oumou Bani diverted the ball into her own net.

Alaba Olabiyi doubled the advantage just six minutes later with a fine finish.

Shakirat Moshood then wrapped up the result in the 80th minute, ensuring a comfortable win and a clean sheet.

The Nigerian champions put up a strong defensive performance, limiting ASKO to very few chances.

They also exhibited clinical finishing in the second half to kill off the contest.

Victory confirms Bayelsa Queens’ qualification for the semi-finals with a game to spare in Group B against Sam Nelly of Benin Republic.
