NPFL: “Have faith in us” – Plateau United’s Abdullahi appeals to fans amid rocky start

By Wale Mustapha

Plateau United defender Mustapha Abdullahi has urged fans to remain patient and supportive as the club seeks to recover from a challenging start to the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Peace Boys are still searching for their first victory after opening the campaign with a 1-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes and a 2-1 home defeat to Katsina United in Jos last Sunday.

With a new technical team and several fresh faces in the squad, Plateau United faces the task of quickly finding form to avoid a season-long struggle.

Abdullahi, a veteran of the NPFL and former Flying Eagles left back, called on supporters to maintain faith in the team.

“We understand the disappointment the results have caused, and none of us are happy about it,” Abdullahi told the club’s media team.

“We believe we are rich in quality and commitment. With the dedicated technical staff, we will keep working until we get it right. We only ask our fans to have faith in us—we can turn this around.”

Plateau United will look to bounce back in their next crucial fixture against Enugu Rangers, scheduled for Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
