CAF Champions League: Rivers United depart for Maputo ahead of Black Bulls clash

Nigeria’s CAF Champions League representatives, Rivers United, are set to depart for Maputo, Mozambique, on Wednesday for their second-round, first-leg encounter against Black Bulls.

The team, comprising players and officials, will travel via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, having arrived in the city from Port Harcourt on Tuesday to connect their outbound flight.

The crucial first-leg tie is scheduled to take place at the Campo da ABB Stadium in Maputo on Saturday, October 18.

Rivers United will host the return leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, October 25.

The winner over two legs will secure a spot in the lucrative group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Pride of Rivers booked their place in the second round after overcoming FS Les Aigles of Congo in the opening round of the competition.
