NPFL: Hard work behind Shooting Stars’ unbeaten run – Nurudeen Aweroro

By Wale Mustapha

Shooting Stars Technical Adviser, Nurudeen Aweroro, has credited his side’s strong form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to consistent hard work and determination.

The Oluyole Warriors extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a 2–0 victory over Abia Warriors in a Matchday 9 fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Sunday.

The win sees Shooting Stars climb to second on the NPFL table with 15 points from nine games, continuing their steady rise under the young tactician.

Speaking after the match, Aweroro dismissed any notion of a secret formula behind the team’s success, pointing instead to effort and resilience — especially after a challenging pre-season.

“There is nothing so special about our current impressive form; it’s just a result of hard work,” Aweroro told 3SCfanTV.

“We were appointed just a month before the start of the new season, so preparation time was limited. We also lost one of our coaches, which made things even more difficult.

“But we didn’t allow any of that to derail us. We remained focused and committed, and now we’re seeing the benefits.”

Shooting Stars will aim to maintain their momentum when they face Katsina United in their next league outing.
