Nigerian winger Taofeek Ismaheel continued his impressive form for Lech Poznań, delivering a game-changing performance in their 2–0 victory over Lausanne-Sport in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The win lifts Lech to six points after four matches, strengthening their push for qualification from the group. Thursday’s clash at the Enea Stadium saw the Polish side assert control, with Ismaheel once again proving decisive.
Coming off the bench, the forward made an immediate impact—setting up the opener before finding the net himself.
Yannick Agnero added the second goal to secure the result, while Filip Jagiełło provided the precise pass that unlocked the Swiss defence for the breakthrough.
“The victory is a credit to the entire team,” Ismaheel said post-match.
“We needed this win. We’re now in a position that guarantees us advancement to the next round, but we’re fighting for direct qualification to the Round of 16.
“The opponents played differently than what we’re used to. We usually face teams that sit deep and play long balls. It was a tough match, but fortunately we scored two goals and can celebrate the victory.”
Lech Poznań now turn their attention to a crucial December 11 showdown away to Mainz, a match likely to determine their pathway into the knockout stages of the competition.
