CAF Appoints Boubou Traore to Officiate Super Eagles–Tunisia AFCON Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Malian referee Boubou Traore to take charge of the crucial Group-stage encounter between Nigeria and Tunisia at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The high-profile fixture, scheduled for Saturday, will be Nigeria’s second match of the group and is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the qualification prospects of both sides.

CAF has also named Senegalese official Issa Sy as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the encounter, highlighting the significance attached to the match by the continental governing body.

Both Nigeria and Tunisia are regarded as traditional heavyweights of African football, and their showdown is widely anticipated to be one of the standout fixtures of the group phase, with fans expecting a fiercely contested and tactically intense battle.
