The West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) has officially unveiled its newly constituted committees, marking another significant step in the ongoing administrative restructuring of the regional football body.
The announcement followed recent zonal meetings at which members were selected to serve across various committees established to drive football development, strengthen governance, and oversee competitions within WAFU B.
Notably, three Nigerians have been appointed to the new line-up, underlining Nigeria’s continued influence within sub-regional football administration.
Former Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju, alongside Ruth David and Timothy Hymen, were all named among the committee members.
The inclusion of the Nigerian trio is expected to add depth and experience to the committees, given their respective contributions to football both on and off the pitch.
Adepoju, a former AFCON winner and FIFA World Cup veteran, brings a wealth of playing and administrative experience, while David and Hymen are also regarded as strong assets in football development and administration.
WAFU B is made up of Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, and the Benin Republic, and the newly constituted committees are expected to play a central role in fostering cooperation, improving competitions, and accelerating football growth across the sub-region.
The latest appointments signal WAFU B’s commitment to strengthening its structures as it continues to align with broader CAF and FIFA objectives for football development in West Africa.
