NWFL Premiership Matchday Seven: Rivers Angels Run Riot as Bayelsa Queens Impress on the Road

Action-packed encounters marked Matchday Seven of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, with goals, drama, and standout individual performances across various centres.
In Uyo, Ibom Angels edged Ekiti Queens 2–1. Happiness Agboye gave the hosts an early lead in the 10th minute before Seun Fakunle equalised for Ekiti Queens on 30 minutes. The decisive moment came late on, as Wami Georgeline struck in the 80th minute to secure all three points for Ibom Angels.
At Makwada, Bayelsa Queens produced a commanding away performance, thrashing Adamawa Queens 4–1. Blessing Ilivieda opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Omon Afensemi briefly restored parity for the hosts. Bayelsa Queens then took full control through goals from Janet Akekoromowei and a brace by Kindness Ifeanyi, sealing an emphatic victory.
The North Central derby in Iyahmo ended in a 1–1 draw between Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons. Seember Emmanuel put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute, but Omotoke Ogunfuwa’s dramatic 88th-minute equaliser earned Nasarawa Amazons a share of the spoils.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies claimed a narrow 1–0 win over FC Robo Queens, with Cynthia Mega scoring the decisive goal in the 73rd minute. The result ended FC Robo Queens run of six straight wins.
The South West derby between Osun Babes and Sunshine Queens at Ile-Ogbo ended goalless, with both sides cancelling each other out in a tense 0–0 draw.
The biggest win of the day came in Port Harcourt, where Rivers Angels thrashed Heartland Queens 5–0. Ramotalahi Kareem was the star of the show, netting a superb hat-trick in the 14th, 33rd, and 58th minutes, while Abasiofon Uwah added a brace to complete the rout.
In Asaba, Abia Angels claimed a vital 1–0 away victory over Delta Queens, courtesy of Blessing Okon’s strike in the 55th minute.
Meanwhile in Lagos, Dannaz Ladies came from behind to defeat Ahudiyannem Queens 2–1. Amarachi Anusillem opened the scoring before Chizaram Onyenze equalised for the visitors. Adewunmi Akintola’s late goal in the 87th minute sealed the win for Dannaz Ladies.
Matchday Seven delivered excitement across the league, as teams continue to jostle for position in what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested NWFL Premiership season.
