Paul Onuachu Nets Brace as Trabzonspor Cruise Past Samsunspor, Chibuike Iwaiwu Shines at the Back

Paul Onuachu continued his red-hot form in the Turkish Süper Lig, scoring a superb brace to inspire Trabzonspor to a convincing 3–0 away victory over Samsunspor.

The Nigeria striker has been unstoppable since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, now finding the net in four consecutive league matches. His combination of clinical finishing, aerial dominance, and intelligent movement once again proved decisive, leaving the Samsunspor defence overwhelmed.

With his two goals in this encounter, Onuachu has moved clear at the top of the Süper Lig scoring charts with 15 goals this season, firmly establishing himself as the league’s leading marksman. His consistent output has played a major role in keeping Trabzonspor firmly in the race for the top positions.

At the other end of the pitch, Nigerian defender Chibuike Iwaiwu delivered an outstanding display as Trabzonspor kept a clean sheet. The centre-back was composed and commanding throughout the match, making crucial interceptions, well-timed tackles, and showing calmness in possession.

Iwaiwu’s growing influence at the heart of defence continues to attract attention, with his recent performances underlining his reliability and maturity. His solid showing against Samsunspor further highlighted Trabzonspor’s balance between attacking firepower and defensive stability.

The emphatic win strengthens Trabzonspor’s league ambitions, while Onuachu’s scoring streak and Iwaiwu’s defensive assurance remain key pillars of their push as the season progresses.
