Nigeria-eligible Edna Imade’s double lifts Cacereno to victory over Granada
By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Nigerian-eligible forward, Edna Imade scored two goals as Spanish Primera Federacion Women’s side, Cacereno upended Granada 2-1 on Sunday.
Cacereno headed into the game in a bid to extend its unbeaten run to six games since a 2-1 defeat to Eibar on September 18, 2022.
The quest suffered a setback as Naima Garcia Aguilar gave the visitors (Granada) the lead in the eighth minute.
The goal didn’t deter Cacereno from pursuing and retaining its unbeaten run quest.
Imade equalised for Cacereno in the 26th minute before scoring the winning goal for her side in the additional minutes of the second.
The goal took Imade’s goal for the season to five games and tied at the top of the top scorer chart alongside Logrono’s Paula.
She scored two goals as Cacereno defeated Athletic Bilbao B 3-1 on August 10, a goal during Cacereno’s 1-1 draw with FC Barcelona B before scoring her latest brace.
Cacereno occupy the sixth position on the log with 15 points after eight games.
The team will next face CD Juan Grande on November 20, 2022.
