Alex Iwobi makes playing pretty simple for me at Everton, says Amaduo Onana

Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana is happy with Everton midfield pairing of Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi and Gana Gueye.

Onana joined the Merseyside from Lille last summer for an estimated £33 million and Iwobi who has excelled under manager Frank Lampard has made a total of five assists and scored once so far this season.

Eligible to represent either Belgium or Senegal, Onana admits that playing alongside Iwobi and Gueye has made playing pretty simple for him after 14 domestic league games.

“In terms of the midfield three [alongside Idrissa Gana Gueye and Alex Iwobi], I feel it worked,” he told Sky Sports.

“I feel quite comfortable playing with Gana and Alex as they’re amazing players and they make it quite easy for me.”

The 21-year-old former Hamburger SV player who cannot wait to be back on the pitch will work to lift his squad.

They are currently only one point clear of Nottingham Forest and beyond the relegation zone as they prepare for their Boxing Day fixture against Wolverhampton FC.
