NWFL Premiership embark on two-week break for Nigeria elections

The 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season will embark on a two-week, according to the Nigeria Women’s Football League secretariat.
In official statement on its verified Twitter handle on Friday, the  NWFL secretariat attributed the compulsory break  to the Presidential and Governorship elections holding across the country.
As a result of this, the next two match days will hold on March 1 and March 15 respectively.
After matchday nine, Delta Queens top Group A with 17 points ahead of Bayelsa Queens (15 points), Naija Ratels (10 points), Rivers Angels (10 points), Heartland Queens (8 points), Royal Queens (8 points), and Osun Babes (6 points).
Edo Queens lead Group B of the abridged league with 15 points ahead of Nasarawa Amazons (13 points), FC Robo Queens (13 points), Confluence Queens (13 points), Abia Angels (10 points), Adamawa Queens (9 points), and Ibom Angels (6 points).
The top three teams from each group at the end of the abridged league season will qualify for the season-ending Super Six.
League Champions will be crowned at the Super Six with the winners representing Nigeria at the West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Zonal Qualifiers for the CAF Champions League.
Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens won the last two editions of the league and represented Nigeria at the 2021 and 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.
