Peter Olayinka: FNL hands Nigerian striker four-match ban over unruly conduct
By Wale Mustapha
Czech National Football League have announced a four match suspension for Slavia Prague striker, Peter Olayinka following his unruly behavior in a league match against Liberec a week ago.
Olayinka was sent off after headbutting an opponent in an altercation as the lanky forward was seen making unsportsmanlike gesture to referee after he was issued the red card, an act which the league body frown at.
In a statement on Thursday, FNL announced that: “The disciplinary committee punished Peter Olayinka with a 4-match suspension for a red card in a match against Liberec.
“The player will appeal the red card in cooperation with the club.”
The Super Eagle will be hoping that Slavia Prague will appeal the decision in a bid to water down the severity of his punishment.
Olayinka is currently in Nigeria where he is expected to help the Super Eagles record a victory in their 2023 AFCON qualifying encounter against Guinea-Bissau.
