One Billion naira prize money up for grabs in 2023 Dozy Mmobousi Super Cup

The winner of 2023 Dozy Mmobousi Super Cup Football Tournament will smile home with over #1billion naira star prize, organizers have confirmed on Monday.
The invitational tournament which will be second in row to be sponsored by Dozy Mmobousi Foundation in conjunction with the Nigeria Professional Football League under the Nigeria Premier Football League Limited.
The organizers also confirmed that 12 teams selected from the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL will be slugging it out for the prize money this time as against eight teams in the last edition.
The sum of #20m will be paid to 12 teams for their participation while the first runner-up of the tourney will take home #200m and Chairman of Interim Management Committee, IMC, Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye has described the initiative as as a huge impetus to the evolving reforms to stabilize the league.
Elegbeleye who commended Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation for the partnership with the NPFL said: “This Pre-season Tournament is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent in the league, promote Nigerian football to a broader audience, and inspire teams and players to contribute to the growth of the sport in the country.”
CEO of Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation, Ebuwa Martins Agbonwaneten reiterated the foundation’s commitment to using sports as a vehicle to support social and economic development in Nigeria.
“The Dozy Mmobuosi Super Cup Football Tournament is an excellent platform to promote the growth and development of football in Nigeria and we look forward to another successful tournament and the opportunity to showcase the best of Nigerian football”, said Agbonwaneten.
The inaugural edition of the Dozy Mmobuosi Super Cup took place in November 2022 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, where Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan emerged champions to claim the ₦100 million top prize with all the four participating teams received an appearance fee of ₦10 million.
