Boost for Real Sociedad as Umar Sadiq returns to training

Real Sociedad have been boosted with the news of a possible return to training of Nigeria striker Umar Sadiq after a long injury lay off.
The Super Eagles striker has been out of action for the LaLiga side since rupturing his ligament in their game against Getafe in November 2022 and the lanky forward was seen at the training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.
In build-up to clash with new champions Barcelona, Real Sociedad announced Sadiq’s return with a tweet, saying:” “Look who’s back training with the group! Sadiq!”, with a video of the Nigerian forward welcomed with a guard of honour.
The Nigerian’s return may be too early as he may not be involved in the trip to Camp Nou but the club is confident he may have some minutes in the remaining three games of the season.
Sadiq joined Real Sociedad from Almeria last summer in a deal worth around €20m and was able to play three games for the side with two goals.
