Daniel Chukwu Returns to Molde with Backing from Man United Legend Solskjaer

Molde FK, the Norwegian top-flight club managed by Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has successfully secured the return of Nigerian striker Daniel Chukwu from Polish club Legia Warsaw. The announcement was made on Molde’s official website on Wednesday, confirming Chukwu’s signing on a two-year deal until 2020, for an undisclosed fee.
In a statement released on their website, Molde FC expressed their satisfaction with the transfer, stating, “Molde Football Club has reached an agreement with Polish Legia Warszawa for the acquisition of Daniel Chima Chukwu. The 26-year-old made a significant impact during his first spell with Molde after joining from Lyn in 2010. He won three championships and two cups, making him one of the most successful foreign players in Norway.”
Chukwu’s football journey has taken him to various clubs around the world, including a stint at Shanghai Shenxin FC where he scored an impressive 21 goals in 49 matches. However, returning to Molde holds a special place in Chukwu’s heart. “It’s great to come home again,” he expressed. “Having been with the club before, I am familiar with its values and culture. I have always felt like a part of the Molde family, even when I was away. It’s truly amazing to be back. Ole Gunnar has always been supportive of my return, and I couldn’t be happier.”
Solskjaer, who achieved legendary status at Manchester United by winning the Treble in 1999, expressed his confidence in Chukwu’s abilities. “We are delighted to welcome Chima back,” he stated. “He is an incredible individual who consistently works hard to elevate the team’s performance. With his previous success, winning three league titles and two cups, he understands what it takes to win. Moreover, his experiences abroad have undoubtedly equipped him with valuable skills that will benefit Molde FK. I have no doubt that he will give his all for the club.”
