Aberdeen Secures Nwakali’s Loan Signing Pending Work Permit Approval

Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen is on the brink of finalizing a significant acquisition, with Nigerian midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali poised to join the club on loan for the remainder of the season. The prospective transfer, however, awaits the completion of the essential administrative requirement – the issuance of a work permit. Nwakali’s imminent arrival marks Aberdeen’s second signing in the January transfer window, following the return of Niall McGinn.

Chidiebere Nwakali, a 21-year-old talent in the ranks of Manchester City, boasts a noteworthy career with loan stints at FC Sogndal and IK Start in Norway. The midfielder, currently joining Aberdeen during their winter-break training in Dubai, has drawn considerable attention as the club strategically strengthens its roster.

Manager Derek McInnes expressed his satisfaction with the impending addition of the former Nigerian U17 and U20 player. In a statement to the Daily Record, McInnes highlighted the concerted effort invested in securing Nwakali’s services: “Manchester City has been very keen for Chidi to get some competitive game time, and it’s a deal we’ve been working on for a couple of months now, so I am delighted to welcome Chidi to the club.”

McInnes also voiced optimism about Nwakali’s potential impact on the squad, stating, “I’m sure he will be a positive addition to our squad.”

As the anticipation builds for Nwakali’s integration into Aberdeen’s ranks, the club awaits the necessary clearances, paving the way for a dynamic collaboration on the Scottish Premiership stage.
