ABSU President Mahmud Hadejia congratulates Super Eagles on AFCON 2025 bronze medal feat

The President of African Beach Soccer Union (ABSU), Mahmud Hadejia heartily congratulated the Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the National Sports Commission (NSC), and indeed all Nigerians on the Super Eagles’ bronze medal achievement at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigeria Beach Soccer League Coordinator, Mahmud Hadejia commend the players for their resilience, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament, culminating in a well-deserved podium finish that reflects the true character of Nigerian football.
He also recognized the coaching crew led by Head Coach Eric Chelle for their professionalism, tactical acumen, and leadership.
Hadejia also applauds the Nigeria Football Federation for identifying Coach Chelle as the right man for the job and for providing the enabling environment and institutional support that allowed him to succeed—especially at a time when his appointment was initially met with scepticism by sections of the public.
This achievement according to Hadejia once again underscores the importance of patience, continuity, and collective backing for our national teams. We therefore call on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to continue supporting our national teams and players, even during challenging periods, as unity remains our greatest strength.
He praised notable individuals from the Presidential delegation like CG of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and Saleh Ahmadu (Madakin Lokoja) for their personal contributions and efforts to support the team.
He acknowledged Abdulsamad Isiaya Rabiu Chairman of BUA investments for his notable pledges to support the team.
“As attention now turns to upcoming engagements, I express our full support for the Super Falcons ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. I am also excited by the return of the Super Sand Eagles to international competitions, with early preparations already underway for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON), beginning with an invitational tournament in Ghana this March.” He said.
Hadejia concluded that the Nigeria Beach Soccer League remains committed to the growth and success of football across all formats and will continue to support initiatives that promote excellence, development, and national pride.
