Afcon 2023: Nigeria will conquer Africa again – Alloy Agu

Former Nigeria international, Alloy Agu is confident in country’s senior national team’s chances of winning the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles  were handed tricky opponents, consisting of host nation, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea in Group A as the West Africans eye an impactful 20th appearance on the continent.
Agu believes his confidence in Nigeria winning the AFCON grew after the release of the 25-player squad, stressing that the threat of other top sides in the continent but he’s of Super Eagles winning the mundial.
“Well, having seen the final 25-man list released by Jose Peseiro, I want to believe that we have the players to conquer Africa all things been equal,” Agu told Complete Sports.
“Yes. we have other strong teams who will definitely give the Super Eagles a run for their money, but then, with the calibre of players in our disposal and commitment of the players, I think Nigeria can lift the trophy.
“It will be tough and as you know, if you want to be a champion, you must be ready to beat the best teams. I wish the team all the best in Ivory Coast.”
Three times African champions are hoping their campaign can lead them to their fourth title in Ivory Coast.
