AFCON 2023: President Tinubu rewards silver winning Super Eagles

President Ahmed Tinubu has rewarded the players and officials of the country’s senior men’s national team following their return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire where the team finished as runners-up.
During a welcome breakfast on Tuesday players of the team were honoured with the Member of Order of Niger (MON) Award.
Players will also get 1 flat in Abuja as well as a plot of Land each from as a sign of gratitude for their services for the country.
The Super Eagles lost 2-1 to hosts, Cote D’Ivoire in the final of AFCON 2023 at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.
That was the only game the team lost at the tournament after seven games. In total, they won five games, drew one, and lost one game.
Overall, the three-time African champions scored eight goals and conceded four.
