Afcon 2023 qualifiers: CAF hails ruthless Victor Osimhen scoring spree

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen stole the show again as Nigeria put Sao Tome and Principe in their place in the final round of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers and CAF can’t keep calm about his prowess.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) reacted as 24-year-old Osimhen continued his scoring spree on the continent.

Prior to the game, the official CAF handle made a post that asked if the Nigerian would add to his tally.

Without disappointing the Napoli star responded with a hat trick against Sao Tome to take his qualifying round tally to ten goals, the most by any player in a single campaign.

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom witness an excellent performance as Nigeria sealed their place as Group B winners with a six-goal thriller.

Osimhen has scored seven goals against Sao Tome in two matches and went home with the match ball n both occasions.

“Spoiler: Yes he does..THREE TIMES,” CAF posted on X. “He just can’t stop scoring! Osimhen’s ruthlessness in front of goal proved the difference as Nigeria coasted to victory,” it added as per the official website.
