Afcon 2023: Semi Ajayi promises Nigeria bounce back against Cote d’Ivoire

West Bromwich Albion defender, Semi Ajayi is optimistic that the Super Eagles will get things right in their next game against Cote d’Ivoire at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday.
The three-time African champions are desperate to get their campaign back on track as they battle the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium Ebimpe, Abidjan.
Ajayi lasted the entire duration as the Super Eagles came from behind to hold the Nzalang Nacional to a 1-1 draw on Sunday and the 30-year-old is confident the his side will surmount the hurdle against the Elephants.
“We created a lot of chances but we need to be more clinical and we are working on that to put things right in the next game,” the West Bromwich Albion star told media.
“We spoke with each other, we know what we need to do to improve and we will definitely put in the work to make sure we get things right for the next game.”
Nigeria are third on the Group A standings with a point from just their opener and will hope to overtake leaders and hosts Cote d’Ivoire when they face off in Abidjan.
