AFCON 2023: Yemi Alade backs Super Eagles to bounce back vs Cote d’Ivoire

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Yemi Alade remains confident in the team to bounce back to winning ways when they face the host nation Cote d’Ivoire in their next outing at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Alade had featured alongside Mohamed Ramadan featured in ‘Akwaba‘, the theme song for the tournament, composed by Ivorian music band Magic System and produced by Grammy nominee and Congolese artist Danny Syn.
The Nigerian also the song thrilled the fans with her colourful performance at the 2023 Afcon opening ceremony at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile, Nigeria drew Equatorial Guinea 1-1 at the 60,000-capacity stadium and the Afrobeats star shared a video of her and her team cheering the lads as they began their quest for a fourth African title on Sunday.
Despite the result, Yemi Alade is confident that the Super Eagles will return to their best against the Ivorians.
“The boys will bounce back”, the Nigerian Afrobeats star wrote on X.
A win over the Ivorians would potentially send the Nigerians to the top of Group A with a favourable outcome between Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau in the early kickoff on Thursday.
