By Dayo Awoniyi

Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa officially assumed duties as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club on Monday, unveiling a strategic vision aimed at restoring the club’s status as a dominant force in Nigerian and African football.

At a formal meeting with the club’s chairman and board members, Musa emphasized the need for unity, professionalism, and long-term planning to drive the club’s revival.

He pledged to leverage his international experience to reposition the four-time Nigerian champions.

“With your support and the backing of the board, I will do everything possible to reposition this club and make it one of the finest—not only in Africa but globally,” Musa said.

Musa’s appointment by the Kano State Government is widely seen as a strategic move to professionalize club management and align Kano Pillars with international football standards.

A former player for top European clubs such as Leicester City and CSKA Moscow, Musa returns to Kano Pillars with a commitment to fostering collaboration among stakeholders, supporters, and players.

As he begins his tenure, Musa called for a collective effort to restore the club’s legacy, urging all parties to work together to meet the expectations of fans in Kano and beyond.
