Ahmed Musa Expresses Desire to Depart Leicester City in Quest for Regular Football

Ahmed Musa, the talented Super Eagles winger, has recently hinted at a potential departure from Leicester City in search of more playing time. While he remains tight-lipped about his next destination, Musa expressed his desire to secure a move during the January transfer window.
In an exclusive interview with Completesportsnigeria.com, Musa stated, “I don’t know where I’m headed yet, but hopefully, I will leave to play regularly.” The Nigerian international has been limited to just one senior appearance for Leicester City this season, featuring in the Carabao Cup against Championship side Sheffield United, during which he found the back of the net.
Various options have emerged for the 25-year-old winger, including a potential return to his former club CSKA Moscow. Additionally, moves to Hull City and Stoke City are being considered, should Musa decide to part ways with Leicester City.
Musa’s time at Leicester City has undoubtedly been challenging since his €18m transfer from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2016. Despite his initial promise, the Nigerian winger has struggled to make a significant impact for the Foxes, managing to score just six goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Having been a vital member of Nigeria’s victorious 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad, Musa also played a crucial role in the Super Eagles’ journey to the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. It was during this tournament that he displayed his immense talent, scoring a memorable brace against Argentina.
As the January transfer window approaches, football enthusiasts eagerly await Musa’s decision regarding his future. The winger’s desire for regular football may ultimately lead him away from the King Power Stadium, paving the way for a fresh start and new opportunities.
