Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has earned recognition as one of the Premier League’s most effective creative players, ranking joint third for the most carries ending in a goal during the 2024–25 season, according to data from WhoScored.
Iwobi recorded five goal-ending carries—actions where a player dribbles the ball and directly contributes to a goal—placing him alongside West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes.
Only Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo (9) and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (6) registered more.
What sets Iwobi apart is his efficiency. He converted 25% of his attacking carries inside the opposition box into goals, outperforming Mbeumo (20%) and Haaland (18%) in terms of goal conversion from carries.
Iwobi’s performance highlights his growing influence at Fulham, particularly in a system built on quick transitions and counter-attacking football.
His ability to carry the ball into dangerous areas and create scoring opportunities has become a key asset for the West London side.
The 28-year-old’s standout metrics reaffirm his value not only to Fulham but also to Nigeria’s national team, as the Super Eagles gear up for crucial fixtures later this year.
