All Africa Games: Ladan Bosso upbeat about Flying Eagles’ podium success in Ghana
By Saheed Afolabi
The Nigeria U20 head coach, Ladan Bosso is optimistic of a fantastic performance from his side at the All Africa Games in Ghana.
Bosso revealed the reasons why he opted for U20 players instead of the required U23 players bringing in the factor of developing the Flying Eagles team for the tasks ahead which including the Wafu Cup and the qualifiers.
He assured that the Flying Eagles will qualify from their tough group which includes Senegal South Sudan and Tunisia.
“Although the competition is for Under-23 teams we chose to go with our under-20 squad because of time factor,” Bosso told Completesports.
“It is a good development for our football as it will afford us the opportunity to prepare and access the boys for tasks ahead, like the WAFU Cup and U-20 qualifiers.
“We know we are drawn in a tough group against the likes of Tunisia, Senegal, and South Sudan. We are confident that we shall qualify for the knockout stage and take it from there. It is not going to be easy but we don’t fear anybody.
“At the last U-20 World Cup against the likes of Brazil, and Argentina, where we were written off but we surprised the world by beating these football world powers.”
The Nigeria U20 team arrived Accra on Tuesday, March five for the All Africa Games scheduled to official start on Friday, March eight.
