Ambrose Calls for Hibernian Improvement in Home Form to Challenge Celtic for SPL Title

Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose has emphasized the need for Hibernian to enhance their home record as they aspire to contend “toe-to-toe” with his former club, Celtic, in the Scottish Premier League (SPL). Hibs have encountered challenges at home, winning only four out of their 11 matches this season, in stark contrast to their robust away performance, where they have suffered just two losses in 13 fixtures. Their most recent defeat on the road was against Celtic, resulting in a 1-0 loss last weekend.
As Hibernian prepares for their first home match of 2018 against Motherwell on Wednesday night, Ambrose acknowledges the imperative of addressing their home struggles. The defender expressed determination to rectify the situation, stating, “I don’t know what is wrong, but we are working hard to make the second half of the season much better than the first.”
Hibernian faces an opportunity to showcase their commitment to improvement and league contention with a home fixture after a demanding schedule of three away games in six days. Ambrose’s insight into the team’s internal efforts reflects a collective aspiration to close the gap with Celtic at the top of the SPL standings.
The challenge for Hibernian is clear – turning their home ground into a fortress and maintaining the impressive away form, a formula that could position them as strong contenders for the SPL title in the second half of the season.
