Andreyna: Brazil defender anticipates tough semifinal clash wth Nigeria
Brazil defender Andreyna has admitted that her side faces a difficult challenge against Nigeria’s Flamingos in the semi-final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The South Americans will take on Nigeria for a place in the final at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 3, in Rabat on Wednesday night.
Rilany Silva’s side are aiming to win the tournament for the first time but must overcome the highly motivated Flamingos to achieve that ambition.
Brazil are yet to suffer defeat in Morocco, although they have had to demonstrate resilience in their victories over China PR and Poland.
Andreyna believes Nigeria will provide a stern test, stressing that the outcome could depend on which team makes fewer mistakes and executes its tactical plan more effectively.
“I expect a very tough match,” the centre-back told FIFA.
“Not just because it’s against Nigeria, but because it’s a World Cup semi-final. The team that makes the fewest mistakes and executes their game plan the best will win this one.”
The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. Nigerian time, with both teams seeking to secure a place in the final.
