Anorthosis Secures Quarter-Final Berth in Cyproit Cup with Shehu Abdullahi Celebrating Victory

In a thrilling encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Anorthosis secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the Cyproit Cup with a 4-3 aggregate victory over Ayia Napa. The Super Eagles defender, Shehu Abdullahi, expressed his delight following the team’s success in the Wednesday clash.
Anorthosis managed a hard-fought 1-1 draw against a resilient 10-man Ayia Napa in the second leg, building on their narrow 3-2 victory from the first leg. The turning point occurred in the 64th minute when Stylianos Stylianou of Ayia Napa received a red card, reducing them to ten men.
Seizing the opportunity, Anorthosis swiftly capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Douglao converting a penalty in the 65th minute. Despite Ayia Napa’s late attempt to turn the tide with Omar Rowe’s goal in the 90th minute, Anorthosis held their ground and secured a coveted spot in the quarter-finals.
